Floors for the way this town works
The local economy runs on a mix of university research, tech offices, craft breweries, restaurants, clinics and small service shops. Each of those spaces asks something different from its floor. A lab needs a seamless, chemical-resistant surface that wipes clean and stands up to spills from solvents and reagents. A taproom needs slip resistance around wet drains and a coating that shrugs off sugary wort and caustic cleaners. A veterinary clinic needs a floor that can be disinfected many times a day without dulling. We specify the resin, texture and thickness for the work that actually happens in your building, rather than offering one product for every door.
We start every commercial project with a walk-through. We look at traffic patterns, drains, loading points, equipment footprints and the condition of the existing slab. We ask about the chemicals you use, cleaning routines, forklift or cart traffic and any inspection standards you need to meet. Then we write a proposal that spells out the system, the schedule and the areas that will be closed at each step.
Systems we install
- High-build epoxy: a thick, solid-color floor for warehouses, back-of-house areas and storage rooms.
- Quartz broadcast: colored quartz sand locked into resin for texture and outstanding wear resistance in kitchens and breweries.
- Urethane cement: a tough option for areas with hot water washdowns, thermal shock and heavy moisture.
- Flake with polyaspartic topcoat: an attractive, fast-cure choice for showrooms, offices, fitness studios and break rooms.
- Integral cove base: resin carried several inches up the wall so there is no seam for water and dirt at the edge.
Working around your hours
Closing a business costs money, so the schedule matters as much as the materials. We regularly work nights, weekends and holiday breaks. Large spaces can be split into phases so part of the building stays open while another section is ground and coated. Fast-curing polyaspartic and urethane systems allow some areas to reopen the following morning. For university and research tenants, we coordinate with facilities staff about access, ventilation and safety requirements before we bring a grinder through the door.
Our grinders run with HEPA dust extraction, and we seal off work zones with plastic barriers when needed. Low-odor resins are available for occupied buildings, medical offices and spaces that share air with neighboring tenants.
Preparing commercial slabs
Commercial concrete often carries a history: old vinyl tile adhesive, sealers, paint lines, oil from equipment or saw-cut joints filled with crumbling caulk. We remove those layers down to sound concrete. Moisture testing is especially important on older slabs and slabs without a vapor barrier, which are common here. When readings run high, we use a moisture-mitigating primer so the coating does not blister later. Joints are either honored with flexible fillers or filled solid, depending on whether the slab is still moving.
Safety and cleaning
We can add aggregate to any system to increase traction around sinks, drains, entrances and ramps. Safety colors, aisle striping and equipment zones can be built into the floor rather than painted on top. Seamless coatings leave fewer places for bacteria and grime to hide, which makes daily cleaning faster and inspections easier. We provide written care instructions for your cleaning crew, including which cleaners and pads to use.
Planning a project
Have your square footage, a rough sense of how the space is used and your scheduling limits ready when you call. We can visit, test the slab and give you a written proposal with options. If the floor needs work before coating, our repair service handles damaged areas first, and offices that prefer a bare look can consider polished concrete instead.
Documentation for owners and managers
Property managers and business owners often need more than a finished floor. On request, we provide product data sheets, safety data sheets, a written scope of work and a summary of the moisture readings we took. That paperwork helps with tenant improvement approvals, insurance questions and future maintenance planning.
